This is a photo diary of my costuming "travels"; where I've learned and struggled to make historical costumes for myself. They're not always pretty, but always fun, most of the time. And I want to share with others what I learn along the way. **You can find me on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/Time-Traveling-in-Costume-640703499399817/ or have my posts delivered to your email by signing up at the lower part of the right column.**

About Me

HI, my name is Val. I'm a member of Costumer's Guild West in Los Angeles, Dean of 2018 & 2024 Costume College; Past President of the San Diego Costume Guild, member of Orange County Costume Guild, and a representative of the San Diego History Center. I also put on historical fashion shows for various groups. I make my own historical costumes but don't sell any unless I get tired of one.The eras I've made so far are 1770 up to 1918. My favorite is the 1880s bustle.

My New Blog to a Book

Each year I've been having everything I posted in my blog during the year made into a soft cover book through SharedBooks.com since 2009. Its so nice to have a tangible copy of my blog to keep, and share if needed. I even had our entire trip to Europe that I blogged about made into a book for us and our family. I can't tell you how easy and inexpensive it is. You can even see an online copy of your own before you actually purchase, and you can put your own photos on the front and back, and choose a cover. If its your first time and you want all of it in one book, you can do that. Or you can type in a time range.

Right now until January 6, SharedBooks is having a sale of 15% off. It took almost $11 off my newest book.
Give it a try. Wouldn't you love to have a copy of all your hard work in your hands?  The website is http://blog2print.sharedbook.com/blogworld/printmyblog/index-e.html?utm_source=SharedBook&utm_medium=email&utm_content=footer&utm_campaign=Jan1
Use this code until Jan 6 to get your discount.   B2P2014    Once you've ordered your first book you'll get email notifications during the year of further sales, but its usually 15% off. I don't get any credit for this, I'm just a very satisfied customer.
